Meet Erin and welcome to her journey through discovering grace and finding strength in her imperfection. I think Erin is pretty perfect, but I'm partial to a sweet, gentle spirit like hers. You don't have to be a pastor's wife to relate here. With illusioned perfectionism surrounding our every turn, it's no wonder we compare and strive and disqualify ourselves based on a bunch of false realities we've convinced ourselves exist. Find comfort in your imperfection today because really, it's right here when we recognize our own brokenness and need for a savior that we can live perfectly whole. Healed. Free.
I met the sweetest girl in the world...
Friends, welcome! I felt impressed to share a piece of my story and season with you today. I hope you like it. "The Pastor's Wife" will be a series here on the blog for the next few weeks. Whatever your story, wherever you find yourself today, may these words offer you hope and encouragement for your own season.
So much love! XO
Hi friends! I'm bringing you something a little different today. I was asked by my great friend, Candice, to write a review on one of our favorite books, Bread & Wine. It's being featured on her blog, www.flyingpaperairplanes.net, which you should read and subscribe to for all things lovely in life! Read below for the review and for your chance to receive a free copy of this book for yourself.
Hugs to you today! XO
Meet Nic. Widow. Mother. Survivor. Hero. I met Nic recently through a mutual friend and knew immediately why God chose for our paths to intersect. I believe, in part, it was for this very purpose: to share her story with you. It bears out that when we live by faith in Christ, even the shattering moments result in Life. This is an important read on this Memorial Day weekend as we remember those who have paid a very dear price.
Meet Lindsay. I cannot say enough about this beauty. She has much to teach us all. With the unexpected loss of her mother just over a year ago, Lindsay has experienced sorrow in such a way that so many of us have not. As you read her story, you'll find great pain but also great joy. She has tasted extravagant love through devastating tragedy, and Lindsay will be the first to tell you it was not in vain. Also, meet Mama or Teesa as many of us called her. A mama to everyone that knew her, a grandmother to our children who she cared for like her own, and an astonishing woman of God who left a legacy to be imitated. On this Mother's Day weekend, it is my privilege to bring you a tribute in honor of Ms. Teresa Burrell.
Meet some of my long-time friends Jonathan and Jessica Taylor, and welcome to their raw, redemptive love story. The heart of this brave family is a captivating one, a magical and adoring one. When you know them you cannot help but to be a little stirred, maybe even a little uncomfortable, yet awakened. They are a family that looks for the uninvited and the marginalized, and this is an adoption story that continues to evolve and sings the very heart of a similar tale accomplished 2,000 years ago. Their passion is driven by a responsibility to act, not seen as an unusual task but a necessity. Learn, laugh and be challenged as you read. A story that is to be continued...
Dear friends, I am so proud to introduce this story to you today. Meet Blake. I have known this guy for over 15 years. Growing up with him, I've witnessed some of the very tales on this page; the talented life of a guy going nowhere fast. But then hope entered in, pushing through the barbed wire fence and the jail cell walls, anxiously awaiting to redeem the brokenness of this stony-hearted, convicted felon. Blake's story carries with it a power to awaken even the crustiest of souls. May it serve as a reminder, that no one is too far gone or beyond the Father's reach.
Meet Alli. A gracious warrior, awe-inspiring creator of things, and beautiful example of a woman who loves deeply. I met Alli about a year ago and she and I quickly became great friends. Her sun-shiny demeanor radiates onto everything she touches, and all those who know her love her. Alli's story will shed light on an epidemic we face, not just here, but all over the world, and it's one that needs to be heard. As you are moved by her words, may you also be driven to your knees in prayer for all those who have tasted such an infirmity. May you see that hope does exist, not just for Alli, but also for you.
Welcome friends! It's with a ton of joy that I invite you to this space and to our very first story! I couldn't think of a better way for us to begin sharing the raw, exposed, and even undignified details of our lives together except with this story...and this beautiful friend. Kirby Kaple is so dear to my heart, a sister in the truest sense, a long-time friend and kindred spirit. She is known for many things...her powerhouse voice and stunning blue eyes...her work ethic and desire to make things better all around her...but also for something else, something that radiates from the deepest place in her heart...her love for children. I want to invite you to walk in her shoes as she brings us into the journey and fight to conceive. May you be blessed by her heart's cry, her truth, and the hope that she clings to.
